 Judges' Education Seminar and Workshop

 Time: Tuesday, Sept.27, 2011,  6 pm -9:30 pm

Place: Georgia International Horse Park, Legacy Room, Walker Arena, Conyers, Georgia

Fee: $30 or $40 per couple with one study package

National Specialty Judges' Education seminars are open to applicant, provisional and approved judges and GRCA Category 1 and 2 CCA evaluators only.  The program will include an audio visual presentation and a hands-on session with a number of live dogs.  Ring-side tutoring is planned on Wednesday, Sept.28 through Sat. Oct. 1 (Best of Breed) during the National Specialty.

PIGMENTARY UVEITIS SEMINAR BY DR WENDY TOWNSEND

Dr.  Wendy Townsend will discuss the diagnosis, treatment, and current research on pigmentary uveitis and the importance of the features that make PU different from other from other forms of uveitis. The correct diagnosis is a critical step before treatment phase begins.

Also, Dr. Wendy Townsend will address the following topics /questions:

1.) Current therapies for PU

2.) Therapy goals ?

3.)  What do we know about how it is inherited ?

4.) Significance of iris cysts?

5.) How old is old enough to be considered safe from development of PU?

6.) What kind of research is currently being done?

7.) What have we figured out so far?

SEMEN COLLECTION/FREEZING

Dr. Ana Adams of CLONE-Atlanta/ Hamby Road Animal Hospital will be offering  a semen freezing clinic on September 28, 2011. Dr. Adams is board certified by the American College of Theriogenologists and is a Past President of the Society for Theriogenology. Semen freezing will include a complete semen analysis and Brucellosis testing. Semen freezing will be offered by appointment only. Special pricing will be offered at the show.

$375 for first dog and $350 for any additional dog with common owner

All semen will be stored in Atlanta at Hamby Road Animal Hospital (unless otherwise requested) and storage fees after the first year are $100 per dogs. Please email Dr. Carole Amos to make an appointment and ensure availability. Her email is carole@lanierdogs.com
